SAT01 - General Session 7| Understanding the Needs of the AYA Population

This session will include a 30-year-old patient with Ewing’s sarcoma, his spouse, an oncology nurse navigator and oncology social worker narrating his journey over the past 9 years and living with metastatic cancer. This session will discuss the unique treatment and adjustment needs that require patient-centered care involving a multidisciplinary team from a patient perspective. Age-related, developmental challenges, including independence, navigating college, career, relationships, fertility and family planning, and psychosocial support needs, will be identified. Participants will gain an understanding of the barriers and challenges of accessing clinical trials for the AYA patient.
