Understanding the current state of clinical trials, this discussion will highlight the integral role of the navigator in providing assessment, education, and support for patients with cancer considering clinical trial options.

Learning Objectives:
  • Provide a general overview of the clinical trial process
  • Explore how the pandemic has impacted the conduct of clinical trials
  • Educate navigators regarding questions to assess patients support for clinical trial enrollment
  • Identify barriers to enrollment
  • Discuss current sources of support for patients with cancer considering clinical trial enrollment
  • Summarize strategies navigators can utilize to support patients participating in clinical trials
