FRI09 - Breakout Session 2 | Fertility Preservation

This session will discuss the past, present and future of fertility preservation options in the cancer patient across the cancer continuum. Current preservation options and state of science and technology in fertility preservation will be identified. Participants will gain an understanding of communication techniques, ethical considerations, as well as funding and resources available to the cancer patient including an understanding of state and federal insurance coverage. Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology risk stratification with be identified.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify fertility preservation options for patients throughout the cancer continuum, from diagnosis to survivorship include up to date overview of testicular and ovarian tissue cryopreservation for pediatric, adolescent and young adult cancer patient.
  • Describe current state of the science and technology in fertility preservation options for patients beginning at diagnosis.
  • Define current communication, ethical considerations, financial barriers, and resources
