AONN+ Annual 2020

THURS03 - General Session 2 | Equipping Navigation Teams for Metrics Implementation

Nov 5, 2020 10:15am ‐ Nov 5, 2020 11:30am

Because evidence guides practice, it is essential for oncology navigation programs to identify core metrics and standardize data collection activities to demonstrate program outcomes in the value-based environment that is currently dominant and will continue to be in the future. However, the oncology navigation field has lacked clarity about which metrics are most relevant and has failed to provide oncology navigators with a common framework for navigation measurement. This session will introduce the metrics implementation toolkit and guide navigation teams in the utilization of this resource.

Learning Objectives:
  • Summarize the background to the development of the metrics implementation toolkit.
  • Discuss the common challenges and facilitators to collecting metrics.
  • Identify key stakeholders to determine program metrics and data sources.
  • Illustrate navigation metrics dashboard development.
  • Describe the performance improvement process and tools.
