We Need a Financial Navigator! - You don’t have a formal Financial Navigator at your facility - putting all the puzzle pieces together, so your patients can reap the benefits of Financial Navigation. Take Your Financial Navigation to the Next Level - Proactive rather than Reactive means reaching out to the patients before they realize they might need help!
Learning Objectives:
Identify available Federal resources to maintain/ replace health insurance coverage. (COBRA, marketplace)
Increase knowledge of job roles/ titles internal to medical facility and within community that assist patients with daily living, medical, prescription and insurance resources. (financial counselor, financial advocate, patient navigator, financial services or billing, foundation grants, social worker, town assistance, communities of faith, national organizations, national advocacy or disease specific groups, drug companies)
Distinguish employment categories and what protection / benefits may be available.
(Over 50 employees, under 50 employees, gig workers, self-employed, etc: FMLA, short term or long- term disability, unemployment, sick bank (your own or donated.)
Summarize implications/ benefits to fundraising/ accepting donations for income-based eligibility programs.
